Dr. Yaw Ofori-Adjei

Yaw Ofori-Adjei graduated from the University of Ghana Medical as part of the class of 2003. After completion of his housemanship, we went on to enter the residency program for internal medicine, attaining the membership of the West Africa College of Physicians in April of 2009 and subsequently the Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians in 2014. He holds a postgraduate diploma in Therapeutics from the Cardiff University. He is a Senior Physician specialist in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and Head of the Medical Intensive Care Unit, which was established under his leadership. He is an adjunct lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology with special interests in rational use of medicines and the prevention of antimicrobial resistance. He is Chairman of the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. He also serves on the Editorial Committee of the Ghana Standard Treatment Guidelines. He is an IT enthusiast and the Technical Director an IT Company; Fairgreen Limited operates in the enterprise IT space in Ghana and other parts of Africa for over 20 years. He has developed software applications that have been used in healthcare. He has served on an advisory committee for the implementation of e-Health in Ghana. He is project management professional, and holds a certificate in Business Process, Innovation and, Design from the George Washington School of Bussiness and a Member of the Chartered Institute for I.T. He also recently became a Certified BlockChain Expert. He was the consultant to the Electoral Commission of Ghana, responsible for the design and implementation of a new IT system that was used to safely and successfully conduct the 2020 general election in the COVID-19 Pandemic. He is married to Dr Dziffa-Bella Ofori-Adjei, a Paediatric Ophthalmologist and they are blessed with three children, Kwadwo, Naa Koshie and Tanefa. When he is not in medicine or IT Dr Ofori-Adjei appreciates nature a lot and loves to travel to experience it.
